7am – Court slept very well last night, despite the constant interruptions. She received 2 units of blood, so that should give her some extra energy. Hopefully today we will get a little more information as to the plan of action. What they have told us so far, is, she will basically be treated with the same protocol as last time – except it will be more intense. She will have more of the treatment done in the hospital, instead of the outpatient clinic. So, today we wait to find out when the surgeons can put a central line in and when they anticipate starting chemo.
I am so grateful that we were able to come back & be treated here. I think it will be much easier for Courtney being familiar with the hospital and the staff. In fact, she is somewhat of a celebrity around here. I was pleasantly surprised that so many of the same nurses are still here (and in the outpatient clinic) and remember her. The doctors have all made her feel safe and are truly concerned for her well being.
Ashley came to visit and brought a bag of goodies for her. Nick and a friend also came and spent several hours. Brenda and Lauren met here for a visit. It was great to see that she has so much support and love.

Today has definitely been a surreal experience. I feel like I am in a time warp and have gone back to September 2000. A month ago, I would have never imagined that Courtney would be back at UCLA fighting leukemia again– 2 weeks ago I was afraid we would be back – and today, that fear became a reality.
